Who we are

We are Meiklejohn and we’ve been representing illustrators for over 45 years.  Back when the agency first opened its doors a rolodex was an art buyer's best friend and artwork was delivered by hand, the Meiklejohn brothers were the go to guys for illustration. A lot has changed since then, but one thing remains the same, clients still come to us for the best in illustration.

We collaborate with creatives on a wide range of commissions, from exciting ad campaigns to beautiful book covers. We represent some of the world's most talented illustrators and we love to help our clients find the perfect artist for their project.  We see ourselves as creative facilitators, so everyone else can concentrate on doing what they do best, creating fabulous illustrations.

Claire Meiklejohn is the second generation of Meiklejohns to head up the agency, some might say she was raised on illustration. After earning her creative stripes in the world of arts management she took the reigns of the family business and has transformed the agency to meet today’s creative demands.

Louise Tummon worked as an art buyer in some of London's top advertising agencies before joining the team as our senior agent. Louise's project management experience ensures all our projects run smoothly. Louise also has a keen eye for emerging talent and is always on the look out for new illustration stars.

Alice Wilkinson focuses on our marketing and client development, spreading the word about our fabulous artists. In addition to project management, Alice also helps our artists develop their portfolios; nurturing their talents to help them grow.

Lou Renforth is our wonderful Studio Manager. Her meticulous nature and design background means our website and social media presence is always looking fresh and the studio running smoothly.

How we work with our clients

We work across the whole creative spectrum. Advertising agencies, design groups and publishing houses are all on our client list and we understand each of them have very different needs.

Some of our clients know exactly who they want to work with and they’re ready to brief, others just have the beginnings of an idea which they want to explore; we love working with both. Just give us a call or drop as an email and we’ll be able to help you out.

Would you like us to represent you?

We are always on the look out for exceptional talent to represent. If you would like us to review your work, please send us samples or a link to your website.
